I’m Debra Hayden. I am the owner of American Canvas Crafters and we are located on the East End of Long Island , NY. I started in the Marine Canvas business in 1982 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My friend and mentor “Big George” Davis hired me at Dav-Crafters Canvas in 1980. Big George taught me how to pattern and install all aspects of Marine canvas. Bimini Tops, Enclosures, Dodgers, Cushions and Carpet Runners. After working with George for a couple of years, I moved to work on my own. Big George and I continued to work on joint Canvas projects. In starting my own Canvas business I’ve had my sons Eddie and Elliott as my installers and kept the business in the family. I’ve made canvas and cushions from large Corporate and Private Yachts to small fishing craft. I love what I do and pay attention to detail and fit. In my craft, I use the best products that are made to withstand sun and weather, Tenara thread, Sunbrella fabric and Marine treated vinyl’s. I offer fair prices and durability. American Canvas Crafters is not limited however to Marine Canvas and cushions. I offer Home Décor and Upholstery. Slipcovers, Linens, Window treatments and Fabulous Custom creations. I stand behind my work and I work on what I know well.
