The Ponca Tribe is getting closer to rejoining the Indian gaming industry after a long absence. Construction on the Fancy Dance Casino began in May, The Enid News reported. Work on the 10,000 square-foot facility, featuring nearly 290 electronic gaming machines, is scheduled to take about nine months, so expect an opening in early 2020. “The new Fancy Dance Casino will be a source of revenue and stable employment for the Ponca Tribe and residents for years to come,” Ric Lonsinger, the chief executive officer of Ponca Enterprise Gaming, said in a news release posted on the tribe's website. The tribe's two prior casinos had to be shut down in 2002 and 2003, respectively, due to regulatory issues. In both situations, the National Indian Gaming Commission raised issues about the operations at the facilities. The tribe is now working with an experienced partner. PERRY – Construction is now underway for the new Fancy Dance Casino to be placed north of Perry, according to Ponca Enterprise Gaming, a subsidiary of the Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma.
In May 2019, Ponca Enterprise Gaming made the announcement that the casino will be located at the intersection of Interstate 35 and US-412/Cimarron Turnpike in Noble County. This intersection is used for travelers in northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas to connect with Wichita, Tulsa, Enid and Oklahoma City. The casino is expected to be complete within 9 months.

Frankfurt-Short-Bruza Associates is serving as the project’s architect, CP&Y, Inc. as the engineering firm and Timberlake Construction as the general contractor, all of which are Oklahoma City firms. Woodward-based Cardinal Engineering is the civil engineer of choice.

Upon completion, the 10,000-square-foot building will house nearly 290 electronic gaming machines, and employ 90 full-time and part-time employees, the statement said.
